Don’t worry. I didn’t get lost out there in the big world of the internets. Life is busy and getting busier by the minute. The good news is photography is still happening. Working with film has been last months project. Pictures will be posted here later. It is 5:30 in the morning, and I am enjoying the sound of the rain as I sip my coffee. Working with html is not on the agenda right now.
This is a quick update to let you know that new images will be coming soon. I am 2 months away from a move that takes me to an adorable new house with an entire wall of south windows. Let there be light! Let there be lots of photography. Many food ideas are brewing in my brain. I am looking forward to sharing them here.

It’s unusual for me to attend weddings these days when I am not the photographer. A couple weekends ago that happened. A guest! Wonderful! We made our way to Iowa City for a backyard wedding on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. We got to the house and walked around to the backyard and I was so happy that I had grabbed my camera on the way out.

The bride and groom were the most casual laid back couple I have ever met making for the most perfect 5 minute wedding. The ceremony ended in a big family hug. Does a wedding get any better than that?

Oh yeah, it does get better. There was pie!

Lots of pie….
Here’s to the bride and groom and their kickass family! Congratulations!
P.S. I’m a little sad I didn’t get a picture of the backyard. DOH!

I always say “I don’t do weddings” and then I meet a couple I adore, and I can’t help but want to be a part of their special day. Don’t tell anyone but it’s really fun to shoot weddings. Shhh, that’s between you and me. Seriously though, there is so much laughter and smiling. You have to smile too! The best part is that even when nothing is happening at a wedding, something is happening. See for yourself…

You may or may not know that I have a little passion for yoga. So much so that I became a yoga teacher several years ago, and my photography studio doubles as a yoga studio. Truth be told, more yoga happens here than photography, but that is something I am totally okay with. It’s a beautiful space made for yoga. The other day I had the honor of photographing the other yoga instructor at the studio. Monica is such an inspiration and is so beautiful and graceful in her practice and life. Here are a few images from our shoot.
Kind of makes you want to do some yoga, no? Monica teaches every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:15am. Check the schedule and come visit the studio! Studio Z

This poor blog is long neglected. Soon enough there will be lots of time for this kind of business, but for now I give you a brief update and link to buy my stuff.
Things move at the speed of light. It’s finally summer and sadly time to move again. There are lots of decisions to be made. Directions to go. Who knows where we will end up. Kind of scary and exciting at the same time. Some things are certain and that is a return to focusing on food. I have been writing a small food article for the local paper here in Grinnell. It is truly food inspiring to find new places to eat locally and even try new recipes at home. I look forward to expanding on the writing and photography of food.
P.S. please do not expect a “food blogger” here. I have no desire to develop recipes. I prefer to explore other peoples food.
Now, go buy stuff and help me fund this move to someplace new.
Thanks in advance!
