The bride and groom were the most casual laid back couple I have ever met making for the most perfect 5 minute wedding. The ceremony ended in a big family hug. Does a wedding get any better than that?

Oh yeah, it does get better. There was pie!

It was a great photography weekend. I packed up my stuff and made my way to Des Moines for a Saturday photo shoot with a totally fantastic family, and I am not say just saying that because they fed me Jimmy Johns. No, really! We had so much fun setting up shop in their sun room and shooting like crazy! It’s nice to get out of the studio once in a while. Location shoots are exciting and sometimes challenging. It’s interesting to figure out how something is going to work in a new space. Makes you think and I truly believe it helps get the creative juices flowing. Not to mention new props! A cat made it’s way into this shoot as well as a giraffe and dragon puppet.

I am still editing pictures and probably will be all week. These were just few of my favorites in a quick look at the images tonight.

I have been bad about updating here. It is so much easier to do Facebook, but for those of you not on Facebook, know that I’m here and the studio is thriving. It’s been such a great adventure.

If you know me, you know that yoga and photography are two HUGE passions of mine. I finally found a place where both can thrive and grow. I am happy. You can see it everywhere. Walk in my studio and you feel it. Join me there….

Still a little unfinished but you can see where this is going. It’s my own little corner of the world here in Grinnell. I was officially open on Sunday. Had a yoga class at 10am and then an interview with a couple about shooting their wedding. Both went well. The big open house for the studio will be March 6th. Put it on your calendar! Going to be a good time.

Ashley was my first official shoot at the new studio. Unfortunately, the floors were not ready for us. Fortunately, there is this cool elevator in the back of the building we were able to use for the shoot. The pictures turned out great, and we made sure not to touch any ropes!

I’ll admit that I resisted the senior portrait work for a long time. I have somewhat been forced into it lately since a lot of my friends have seniors and wanted me to take their pictures. Don’t tell anyone, but I have really enjoyed this work. Maybe it’s the people I have worked with, and if so I am considering myself very luck to have worked with this young adults. They have been so fun and we have had a great time on these photo shoots. Pictured above are a couple of my favorite images from two shoots I’ve done the last month or two. Thanks girls for your creative input and your great attitudes towards keeping things light and easy!

Spent an hour with a fellow yoga instructor. We went to do headshots but couldn’t help but take a few yoga pics in this cool area around Grinnell. This was one of my favorites. Beautiful model, beautiful pose!
